SharpLink Gaming just made waves by revealing a jaw-dropping Ethereum stash: 360,807 ETH, worth over $1.33 billion. And they’re not just parking it in cold storage.More than 95% of SharpLink’s Ethereum holdings are staked; that’s a long-term bet with compounding rewards. Then there’s BitMine Immersion Technologies, holding 300,657 ETH (~$1.11B) and thinking even bigger. According to Chairman Tom Lee:
“BitMine has ambitions to control 6 million ETH, or 5% of the total supply.”
Not to mention they just listed on the NYSE under the ticker BMNR. Subtle? Not really.
Other big ETH holders include Coinbase (137,300 ETH) and Bit Digital, who’s pivoting away from Bitcoin mining to Ethereum staking.
Bit Digital holds 120,306 ETH, worth approximately $444 million.
Ethereum Isn’t Just a Crypto Asset It’s Corporate Strateg
And it’s not just the whales.
BTCS Inc. is staking 55,788 ETH as part of their blockchain infra play. Meanwhile, GameSquare Holdings has doubled its ETH position to explore “NFT yield opportunities for high-end digital collectibles.”
So what does this all mean?
Ethereum is no longer a side hustle, it’s making its way into boardrooms.
“Just 12 public companies disclose holding Ethereum… totaling over 1 million ETH worth approximately $3.7 billion.”
ETH is going corporate and this time, it’s not hype. It’s the new business backbone.
Future-Proofing Corporate Portfolios
And the momentum doesn’t stop there. With Ethereum upgrades like Proto-Danksharding on the horizon and the growing shift toward decentralized finance, more companies are expected to follow suit. They’re not just looking at ETH as a speculative asset, it’s becoming a critical layer of their long-term strategy. From fintech firms to digital media brands, staking Ethereum is now seen as smart treasury management. It’s about earning passive yield, staying ahead of tech trends, and aligning with Web3’s future. If this pace continues, ETH might not just be corporate-friendly it could become the backbone of modern enterprise infrastructure.
